Digital Dividend is the spectrum available from the release of very precious spectrum when full migration of analog terrestrial television transmission towards digital terrestrial television transmission has been fully undertaken. What makes Digital Dividend is extremely important is that the fact the spectrum located in lower UHF band below 1 GHz. Therefore, it is optimum in terms of the need of coverage and bandwidth. The main potential services in Digital Dividend are mobile broadband and digital terrestrial broadcasting. The objective of this study is to find out the minimum guard band and minimum distance between mobile broadband and digital terrestrial broadcasting. The interference analysis has been undertaken using SEAMCAT (Spectrum Engineering Advanced Monte-Carlo Analysis Tool) software. Several scenarios between DVB-T and E-UTRA, such as co-channel and adjacent-channel interferences, variation of distance between DVB-T and E-UTRA devices, and different directions of link have been studied. The results obtained provide some figure regarding the minimum guard-band required and minimum distance between DVB-T and E-UTRA systems.
Abstract. The need of broadband services to reduce digital divide in rural areas had increased in the recent years. The government of the Republic Indonesia shared similar intention and had set guidance of ICT development in its "economic master plan" and "medium term development plan". This paper addressed feasibility and suitability of its implementation in Indonesia, by conducting assessment of possible solu started with qualitative approach to identify possible options, conducted benchmarking and case study analysis to narrow down the options and finally conducted quantitative calculation for the two remaining options performance of the solutions. The results of analysis concluded that early implementation of LTE in 700 MHz Digital Dividend would be feasible in certain geographical areas to fasten the broadband plan development in Indonesia. The government of the Republic Indonesia hared similar intention and had set guidance of ICT development in its "economic master plan" and "medium term development plan". This paper addressed feasibility and suitability of its implementation in Indonesia, by conducting assessment of possible solutions. Using mixed method, the study was started with qualitative approach to identify possible options, conducted benchmarking and case study analysis to narrow down the options and finally conducted quantitative calculation for the two remaining options and measure performance of the solutions. The results of analysis concluded that early implementation of LTE in 700 MHz Digital Dividend would be feasible in certain geographical areas to fasten the broadband plan development in digital dividend; HSPA 900 MHz; LTE 700 MHz; Rural Indonesia, with around 240 million people, is the world's fourth largest populated country, with nearly 2 million km2 land separated over 17.000 islands [1]. However, its population is not evenly distributed, as more than half of them concentrated in the Java island. Similar case applied for the availability of physical infrastructures, such as road and electricity, in dense areas, which are much better than those in the sub-urban and rural area. This also applied to the broadband technologies' availability in Indonesia. KeywordsCurrently, wireline and wireless technology telecommunication services are provided by licensed operators such as Telkom, Telkomsel, XL and Indosat. Number of mobile and fixed wireless access services has reached more than n in Q2-2010 [2]. Unfortunately, development of broadband service is far behind voice services and video broadcast; available in about only 30 cities counted for around 1% Wireless Broadband, 0.7% Fixed Broadband and 4% PC household penetration [3]. 21 Feasibility of LTE 700 MHz Digital Dividend for Broadband Development Acceleration in Rural Areas, Depok 16424, IndonesiaThe need of broadband services to reduce digital divide in rural areas had increased in the recent years. For cellular and fixed wireless users, SMS service has been the main needs after Voice. The fast growth of SMS users especially in Telkom Flexi, in one side has created one problem for operator, that is the increasing number of criminal deception via SMS. Besides using the limited number of operator signalling canals, the criminal deception using the post-paid number will effect directly to billing fraud. This is a problem at SMSC, as SMS Center to provide the features with additional security system such as anti spamming that performs parsing, checking, and blocking on the said SMS spamming. The objective, application design, application making, analysis and evaluation on the anti spamming effect will be described in detail in this paper. It is hoped that this anti spamming implementation can decrease the numbers of the SMS criminal deception and SMS billing fraud in Telkom Flexi.
Abstract WiMAX Implementation as Existing Hotspot Network Backhaul in JakartaThe development of Broadband Wireless Access (BWA), such as WiMAX, as a global standard for data transmission media has been used by high speed internet access provider. WiMAX application which supported by capabilities of interoperability, flexibility and commercial aspect make the internet services become more efficient, cheaper and easier to the customer. This phenomenon should be responded by ISPs. Based on technical and financial aspect in deciding the implementation of Wireless Network with WiMAX technology as a substitute, this research will observe and analyze the projection of WiMAX technology implementation as a backhaul for the existing Wi-Fi's network in Jakarta. This paper will describe the calculation based on the amount of hotspots registered in IIX and average peak traffic per regional from technical aspect with several pricing and technology combination. The result give the basic figures in investing WiMAX as substitute technology for backhaul in hotspot network and also will show its growth in 5 years.
