Faced with increasing demand and relatively static resources, community mental health facilities need to evaluate their functions in terms of time, cost, and performance effectiveness. For this study, the technology of systems analysis was applied to the functions of a progressive university counseling center. The systems analysis provided a management and information flow analysis and a time and cost analysis, as well as a performance analysis. This study focused on the preliminary results of the time, cost, and performance analysis.

Abstract-The Department of Computer Science at North Carolina State University, with support from the Department of Veterans Affairs and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Langley Research Center, has developed an interactive graphics program C The program runs on a Sun 31260 computer with a TAAC-1 graphics accelerator. The program contains operations for region addition and deletion, techniques for narrowing the ankle area, methods for toe extension, operations to allow for shoe inserts, etc. Once the operations by the user are complete, the program will resample the resulting last in a 512x512 array. The user is then allowed to select an error tolerance which will guide a data reduction program to represent the last as Coons patches. These patches are then transmitted to a milling machine which will cut the last.
With recent advances in 3D (three-dimensional) technology, computer users have the opportunity to work within a natural 3D environment; a flat panel LCD computer display of this type, the DTI-100M made by Dimension Technologies, Inc. (Rochester, NY), recently went on the market. In a joint venture between DTI and NCSU, an object-oriented 3D drawing application, named 3-D Draw, was developed to address some issues of human interface design for interactive stereo drawing applications. The focus of this paper is to determine some of the procedures a user would naturally expect to follow while working within a true 3D environment. The paper discusses: 1) the interface between the Macintosh II and DTI-100M during implementation of 3-D Draw, including stereo cursor development and presentation of current 2D systems, with an additional 'depth' parameter, in the 3D world, 2) problems in general for human interface into the 3D environment, and 3) necessary functions and/or problems in developing future stereoscopic 3D operating systems/tools.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
