The seismic performance of a vibration isolator bed system for emergency diesel engine generators was evaluated in this study. A shaking table test and numerical analysis were used for the evaluations. The ICC-ES AC156 test method was applied to the shaking table test, as recommended by ASCE 7. For inducing the input spectral acceleration, the generator was assumed at the highest location of a building. After the shaking table test, structural and functional rigidities were observed by visual inspection and functional testing. It was possible to evaluate the structural rigidity of the vibration isolator bed system for emergency diesel generators in greater detail through a numerical analysis.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
