Garbage is always produced every day, including household trash and many kind of waste. IoT based Trash Can Monitoring System was designed to automatically maintain the garden cleanliness and help to ease the cleaning staff work. This system uses two controlled trash bins with different location identity (ID). There are many devices to build this system, such as NodeMCU microcontroller, Thingspeak as an IoT platform, two ultrasonic sensors to detect the height of trash and approached object, two servo motors to control can cover and disposal outlet, and solenoid as a locking part. The results of this work show that the system designed works well. Location ID of the two trash cans, approached object detection, measurement of garbage height inside the trash can, opening and locking of disposal outlet and cover, work with 100% success rate and all data can be sent to Thingspeak without any error.
Plant enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and farmers usually have more than one plant that needs to be looked after every day. Lack of water and unproportioned sun light can be a serious problem if they have to leave the plant for a long period of time. An Internet of Things (IoT) based automatic remote plant sprinkler with sun light cover was designed to solve this problem. This system eases the users for monitoring the condition of plants without having to be in the field. The system model uses an ESP32 microcontroller, Light Dependant Resistor (LDR), relay, and L298N DC motor driver. In dry soil conditions, the water pump and sprinkler will turn on and water the soil. When the soil conditions are moist or wet the pump and sprinkler will not turn on. When there is intense sun light, the DC motor will pull the curtains to cover the plant. All the data can be monitored remotely via Wi-Fi connection. The results of this work shows that the system works well with 100% monitoring success rate.
The Solar Water Pump is the solution to the provision of raw water for the community, especially the residents of Girikerta, Panggang, Gunung Kidul. Raw water sources at Grigak Beach have been able to be lifted and distributed to residents. The location of each water reservoir is located so far apart that it needs to be monitored in order to maintain the system. Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) system is an alternative solution for monitoring and maintenance. The study to design and implement a WSN is needed to carry out monitoring in the context of maintenance of the pump system, both located in water sources and water reservoirs. The resulting monitoring system consists of a series of sensor nodes and a sensor gateway circuit. Sensor nodes consist of temperature sensors, RF transmitter devices and microcontrollers. Meanwhile the sensor gateway consists of temperature sensors, RF transmitter devices, cellular devices and microcontrollers. The measurement results are then sent to the cloud server to be displayed and accessed by the public. The results of testing this monitoring system indicate that the system has functioned according to the design.
Raising fish in a pond at home can be a hobby and add to the aesthetic value of the owner’s residence. Sometimes people doesn’t aware with the routine of feeding due to busy life that takes up a lot of time. The system that is designed in this work will help people who raise fish to monitor and control feeding activity and the number of pellets to be given remotely. The App Inventor is used to control and monitor an Internet of Things (IoT) based system. The system can display the pellets weight from the load cell sensor measurements on the container. The system is able to send notification if the feed weight is less than 300 grams. Users can choose four feeding settings, namely: S size, M size, L size, and customize. The servo motor will open the valve on the feeder and container containing pellets. The results of this work indicate that the two level feeding system for koi fish is working well. Sending and receiving data from and the webserver works well. The weight that is read by the load cell is displayed correctly.
