Among various imaging studies used for localizing insulinoma, abdominal computed tomography (CT) is one of the most commonly used imaging tool for its non-invasiveness and high sensitivity of localizing insulinoma. However, if insulinoma is not localized by abdominal CT and still the patient is strongly suspicious for insulinoma clinically, other diagnostic tools for imaging including endoscopic ultrasound should be considered to detect insulinoma. We report a case of insulinoma diagnosed by contrast enhanced endoscopic ultrasound which was not detected by multiple phase contrast enhanced abdominal CT.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
