Summary
Radionuclide scanning of the liver is both sensitive and non‐traumatic and has become a widely accepted method of investigation of the hepatobiliary system. It is essential to understand the anatomical, physiological and pathological basis of liver scanning using various techniques and radiopharmaceuticals. This paper reviews the methodology and results in light of both literature and personal experience.
