Honey has long been used as food and medicine. One of the many researched benefits of honey is that it speeds up wound healing. The Koran and the hadiths clearly state that there is healing in honey. Along with advances in technology, cesarean delivery is increasingly being performed to help facilitate labor under various indications. However, cesarean delivery can limit the mother's activities in the care of herself and her child. On the other hand, cesarean delivery also often causes obstetric complications such as puerperal infection, endometritis, wound complications, and surgical healing complications. It will increase the cost of cesarean delivery. The authors reviewed the data regarding the effectiveness of honey in the therapy of post-cesarean delivery abdominal incisions. The data show that the antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant characteristics of honey can significantly affect the therapy of cesarean delivery incisions. The combination of the osmotic effect and hydrogen peroxide activity in honey can inhibit bacterial growth, reduce edema, exudate, and pain due to inflammatory processes. Besides, honey has the effect of protecting antioxidant enzymes from free radicals and reducing oxidative stress to reduce cell damage. Honey can also stimulate angiogenesis, the proliferation of fibroblasts and epithelial cells, and granulation, helping speed up the healing process. This paper discusses honey's mechanism in accelerating wound healing and its effect in preventing wound infection from improving the quality of health and the relationship between mother and child after cesarean delivery.
Background: Adequate fluid consumption and hydration status of students become a special concern because being dehydrated by just 1%-2% can impair cognitive performance. The objectives of this study were to assess the daily fluid consumption, and analyze the correlation of fluid consumption and other associated factors with hydration status of medical students in Universitas Sriwijaya. Methods: A total of 93 medical students in Universitas Sriwijaya were recruited to complete a 7-day cross-sectional study. Subjects were asked to complete a self-administered 7-day-24-hours fluid record and provide first morning urine sample on the last day. Gender information was collected. Physical activity was evaluated by self-administered long version of IPAQ. Body mass index was calculated using body weight and body height measurement. Urine specific gravity was determined by urinometer. The 7-day-24-hours fluid record and 1-day-24-hours urine specific gravity were calculated and analyzed. Results: Majority of the subjects were well hydrated, while 10.8% were slightly dehydrated, 6.5% were moderately dehydrated and 9.7% were severely dehydrated. The average of daily fluid consumption was 1789.28 (989.3-2930) mL. Coefficient correlation of fluid consumption from beverages with urine specific gravity was -0.651 (p=0.00) by Pearson correlation test. The hydration status showed no association with gender, physical activity and body mass index. Conclusions: Most subjects in this study were well hydrated. A strong association was found between fluid consumption and hydration status. It was feasible to use daily fluid consumption from beverages to predict hydration status.
The school is one of the conters for learning activities that can be used to develop their potential. There are many types of activities that students can do in school, such as : read, write, take notes, ask questions, practice and express opinions. However, there are schools that implement the morning access system by entering betel. This study aims to describe the differences in the learning activities of Class IV students who enter pekanbaru 147 public elementary schools. The method used is qualitative. Data acquisition techniques by observation with data analysis techniques by collecting data, then reducing data, presenting data, and finally searching for conclusions. The results of this study show that students do more positive activities in the morning, while students do more negative activities in the afternoon. This research is useful to broaden the knowledge and and insights of researchers in the field of education, particularly in student learning activities, and as a material consideration for future researchers
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
