Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, face-to-face instructions suspended; numerous campuses worldwide closed and were forced to initiate emergency remote teaching (ERT). Thus, this study explores an existing pedagogical strategy to adapt to ERT in the Indonesian context. The study focuses also on the challenges of implementing ERT-based instructions to promote students' engagement during instructional practices. The researcher made a case study in which YouTube, Zoom, and SPADA platforms were employed for ERT-based instructions at a university. Seventeen pre-service language teachers joining the microteaching course in which English as a medium of instruction were voluntarily recruited during the study. The results indicated that ERT-based instructions were praiseworthy as a successful instructional mode to cope with the suspension of face-to-face instructions. However, the prominent challenges were that the low-achieving students were typically lack of self-discipline to engage virtually during the class and teachers had limited control over such students. It is advocated that teachers are supposed to find out the effective instructional strategies to cope with students' negative learning attitude and to ensure that ERT-based instructions are effective for achieving learning objectives.

Ketakutan dan kegelisahan menjadi masalah besar, terutama bagi pemula yang belum berpengalaman dalam public speaking. Ini juga terjadi pada anggota Youth Forum Muslim Gayamsari (Foksari). Kompetensi berbahasa mereka tidak memadai. Itulah sebabnya kegiatan pelatihan Public Speaking diadakan. Hal ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan mereka. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dalam dua tahap, yaitu pengiriman konten dan praktek. Berdasarkan evaluasi, hasil yang diperoleh sangat signifikan. Adanya peserta antusias menunjukkan bahwa mereka sangat tertarik. Selain itu, ada keseriusan dari para peserta yang menghadiri serangkaian acara yang diselenggarakan oleh tim dari awal sampai akhir.

To achieve the goal of teaching learning, a proper method, as an instrument, plays an important role in serving the teaching learning materials. The education of pre-school is aimed to develop the life skill, which covers attitude, knowledge, creativity, and skill. The teaching learning methode that forms the child's character has to be turned back to the curriculum. It should remain concerning in the phase of the development and character of child who like playing, singing, dan moving. Finally, the teaching learning methode must be addressed in shaping academic, social, personal intellegence, and child's creativity.Key words: a proper method, pre-school, life skills PENDAHULUANAnak merupakan amanat yang harus ditunaikan oleh orang tuanya. Anak pada usia dini hatinya masih suci, bersih putih. Ia bagaikan permata yang berharga lagi indah terbebas dari semua kotoran dan kontaminasi. Ia siap dipola, diwarnai dan mempunyai sifat yang cenderung untuk mengikuti siapa yang mempengaruhinya.Menurut Aristoteles yang dimaksud dengan anak usia dini adalah 0 -7 tahun yang disebut sebagai masa anak kecil (masa bermain), dan 7 -14 tahun yang disebut masa anakanak (masa belajar atau masa sekolah rendah). Sedangkan rentangan anak usia dini menurut Pasal 28 UU Sisdiknas No.20/2003 ayat 1 adalah 0-6 tahun. Sementara menurut kajian rumpun keilmuan Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) dan penyelenggaraannya di beberapa negara, PAUD dilaksanakan sejak usia 0-8 tahun.

This research aims to identify types of expressive speech acts, to describe the realization and the actual condition used in Billie Eilish interview's in Ellen show. The researcher used descriptive qualitative. The data of this study collected from the interview script. In this research, the data are taken from the dialogue among the Interviewer and Interviewee; this research used document analysis for analyzing the data. The finding showed there were 16 utterances of expressive speech acts, which consisted of 1 expression of apologizing (6,2 %), 1 expression of thanking (6,2 %), 6 expression of congratulating (37,5),1 expression of greeting (6,2%), 1 expression of wishing (6,2%), 5 expression of attitudes (31,2%). The result showed the expressive of congratulating are the most dominant expressive speech act he expressive of congratulating are the most dominant expressive speech act.
