The experimental cement released calcium and increased the pH of the storage solutions in a similar manner to MTA-Angelus. However, EC showed significantly higher calcium release than commercial MTA-Angelus after 24 h.
Infrared spectroscopy is one of the most widely used techniques for measurement of conversion degree in dental composites. However, to obtain good quality spectra and quantitative analysis from spectral data, appropriate expertise and knowledge of the technique are mandatory. This paper presents important details to use infrared spectroscopy for determination of the conversion degree.
The dielectric properties of (Ba, Sr)TiO3 films were found to be remarkably sensitive to the postannealing treatment atmosphere. This study demonstrates that postannealing in an oxygen atmosphere increases the dielectric relaxation phenomenon and that postannealing in a nitrogen atmosphere produces a slight dielectric relaxation. Such dependence of the dielectric relaxation was related both to oxygen vacancies and to the presence of negatively charged oxygen, trapped at the grain boundary and/or at the electrode/dielectric film interface.
In this paper we present a Raman-scattering study of the phase transitions in the PbZr 1Ϫx Ti x O 3 systems around the morphotropic phase boundary over a wide temperature range. The boundary between rhombohedral and monoclinic phases was found to be a quasivertical line between xϭ0. 46 and xϭ0.47. We also studied the monoclinic-tetragonal phase boundary and our spectroscopic results agree very well with those reported by using x-ray diffraction.
The electrical conductivity behaviour in the paraelectric state has been investigated in lanthanum modified lead zirconate titanate (PLZT) ceramics, considering the universal relaxation law. The contribution of conductive processes to the dielectric response for the low-frequency range was discussed taking into account the oxygen vacancies mechanism. The activation energies for the thermally hopping and conductivity processes were obtained. The results for the frequency dependence of the conductivity suggest at the oxygen vacancy hopping processes, due to relaxations in oxygen vacancy-related dipoles, being mainly responsible for the conduction behaviour in the studied system.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
