We found that ePTFE covered nitinol stents were safe and effective for ureteral stenosis. Their resistance to calcification was high with nonobstructive hyperplasia developing in only a few cases and only at the stent ends. The ideal material for covering stents would produce no mucous hyperplasia.

Granulomatous orchitis is an inflammatory change of the testis. This is a rare lesion of unknown etiology. Usually are unilateral. The clinical appearance varies, and it is difficult to differentiate from testicular cancer. The diagnosis usually being made on histological examination after orchiectomy. Our paper report one case of granulomatous orchitis in a 27 year old patient. A review of the literature is made on the diagnosis and pathogenesis.

Abstract:We report a case of primary small cell carcinoma of the ureter. These tumors are very rare, locally aggressive and with poor prognosis. A 77-year-old man presented with left flank pain and microhematuria. Following diagnosis of ureteral carcinoma, nephroureterectomy was carried out, and adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy were given. The patient had no evidence of recurrence or metastasis, 13 months postoperatively. We provide a bibliographic review and comment on its clinical and pathologic characteristics, diagnostic methods and latest modifications in therapy.

LESIONES QUÍSTICAS TESTICULARES EN LA INFANCIA Presentamos el caso de un niño de 11 meses diagnosticado de quiste intratesticular derecho. Analizamos la etiología, el diagnóstico diferencial y el manejo de las lesiones quísticas testiculares en la infancia. La edad del paciente, la exploración física, los marcadores tumorales y los hallazgos ecográficos contribuyen a la sospecha diagnóstica y en ocasiones al diagnóstico definitivo preoperatoriamente. El diagnóstico diferencial incluye el quiste simple, el quiste epidermoide, los quistes de túnica albuginea, el teratoma testicular, el tumor de células granulosa juvenil-tumor del estroma gonadal, la displasia quística de la rete testis, el linfangioma quístico y la torsión testicular. La enucleación es habitualmente el tratamiento de elección. El conocimiento de las lesiones quísticas testiculares en la infancia permite un adecuado manejo de las mismas y un tratamiento más conservador.
