After presenting a global process of EMC (ElectroMagnetic Compatibility) physics and risk analysis, this paper deals with the specific failure mode of radiated high frequencies. For realistic complex systems with partial unavailability of the data, peak amplitude frequency and observable spatial localisation sensibility, we detail the advantages of four main types of statistical results. The potential of using statistics in simulation coupled with experimental tests is also highlighted.
Abstract. The photogrammetric bundle adjustment is well-behaved in the case of structured aerial imagery looking in the nadir direction. That is less so in the case of ground-level imagery with less structure and potentially looking in any direction. Besides, the cost function based on reprojection errors of tie points is not defined everywhere and exhibits singularities which renders this bundle adjustment process sensitive to initial conditions and outliers. In order to handle difficult configurations without incurring the risks posed by the reprojection function, we propose a new error function that is equivalent to the reprojection error when this error tends to zero, and that enjoys many desirables properties, such as being defined everywhere and being continuous. This allows an easier implementation of a robust bundle adjustment, and incidentally it also allows to solve derivative problems such as triangulating points starting from arbitrary initial positions, or estimating the relative positions of calibrated and oriented cameras starting from arbitrary positions, thus offering a simple solution to the known-orientation structure-from-motion problem.
Systems engineering technical experience in conjunction with leadership skills have been considered as recipe for successful systems’ developments (Williams & Reyes, 2012). A technical leader shall be able to easily link up technical engineering professionals and management teams. Competencies such as strategic thinker, systems thinker, effective communicator, team members’ success enabler, project vision holder are necessary for someone to play a technical leader role. This paper attempts to introduce a model based systems engineering framework to define and articulate technical leader competencies. As a work product from the second cohort of the INCOSE Technical Leadership Institute (TLI), this paper leverages the technical leadership mind‐map developed by the first cohort of the TLI.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
