This paper gives the names of the Russian manufacturers of low-density polyethylene, the processes they use and the capacity levels achieved. IR-and NMR-spectroscopy, gelpermeation chromatography and differential scanning calorimetry are used to make a comparison of the structure and properties of the polymers manufactured using a range of processes, based on the standard product grades. Some general inadequacies in respect of the range of products manufactured and their relation to modern market requirements are noted.
Results of development of high-pressure process of low-density polyethylene production at “Tomskneftekhim” Company have been presented. New technology allowed increasing productivity, product quality, extending polymer assortment. Comparison with designed indexes and the ones at other Russian and world companies has been done.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
