The hydrodynamic properties of dilute 80-'lutions of poly( N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone) (PVP) and its Co(I1) complexes were studied by high-speed sedimentation and viscosimetry methods. Unperturbed dimensions of PVP in two solvents (ethyl alcohol and water) and those of PVP complexes with the cobalt ions in water were determined. Unperturbed dimensions of PVP coils were shown to be dependent on the solvent nature, and those of polymer-metal complexes on metal concentration.
The character of changing the hydrodynamic and conformational characteristics of vinylpyrrolidone copolymers with acrylic acid depending on solvent nature was studied. Peculiarities in changing the hydrodynamic, molecular characteristics and complex forming properties of equimolar vinylpyrrolidone copolymer with metal ions are revealed. Metal ions introduction in copolymer macromolecules gives rise to polymer‐specific, physiologically active properties.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
