Plasma samples from pregnant women were found to have the capacity to bind vasopressin and prevent its destruction by the enzymic activity which develops in human plasma during pregnancy. The existence of this vasopressin-binding capacity offers an explanation for the control of diuresis during human pregnancy. This capacity was revealed by boiling and it may be associated with a protein.
