The area of soybean planting in Indonesia has decreased. The reduction in the land area causes a decrease in crop yields. Until now, 65% of the soybeans needed by the Indonesian people come from other countries, so the creation of new land needs to be tried and the number of farmers who are able to grow soybeans must be increased. Farmers in Wonoharjo village, Kemusu, Boyolali Regency are trained to grow soybeans. Land preparation is done by adding liquid fertilizer which contains a lot of nitrogen-fixing bacteria. 800 soybean seeds of Biosoy were planted with a spacing of 40 cm long and 20 cm wide. Biosoy's new high-yielding soybean seeds were selected to ensure a good harvest. Plant care by providing additional NPK fertilizer when soybeans are 40 days old, and cleaning weeds. Demonstration plot, lg 11 meters, a width of 4 meters with 400 growing points, produces 6.7 kilograms of dry soybeans from 200 grams of seed. The average number of pods per plant is 41 pieces. The average weight of 100 soybean seeds is 21.85 grams. The land that has never been planted with soybeans has succeeded as a Biosoy demonstration plot for farmers.
Risk management is an important thing in organic farming to obtain optimal yields. The objective of the study are: (1) To know the factors affecting the production of organic rice in Special Region of Yogyakarta, (2) Estimate the level of production risk and the factors that affect the risks production of organic rice in Special Region of Yogyakarta, and (3) Determine the risk management of organic rice production. Data were collected from 30 respondents with proportional random sampling method. The factors affecting production and production risk of organic rice were analyzed using multiple linear regression with ordinary least square model, while the level of risk was analyzed by using coefficient of variation. The results showed by adding variables of land area and organic fertilizers can increase the production of organic rice in Special Region of Yogyakarta. Liquid fertilizer has significant effect to reduce risk of organic rice production. While the variables of land area and organic fertilizers have the potential to increase production risks. Based on the results of risk analysis it is known that the risk of organic rice production is relatively low because the value of coefficient of variation is low as well.
Production risk management is important for production optimization. The objectives of this study are to 1) Examine the factors that affect the production of salak pondoh farming in Sleman Regency 2) analyse the magnitude of the production risk and what are the factors that influence the production risk of salak pondoh farming in Sleman Regency, and 3) develop appropriate risk management to be applied in salak pondoh farming in Sleman Regency. The respondents of this study were 30 salak pondoh farmers in Bangunkerto Village, Turi District, Sleman Regency. Interviews with respondents were carried out in October 2021. This study were analyzed using multiple regression analysis with the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) model, while the risk level was analyzed using the coefficient of variation method. The results showed that the variables of organic fertilizer, number of workers, farming experience, plant age, and number of clumps significantly affected production. Sebagian besar lahan pekarang diperkotaan belum di manfaatkan secara optimal, dengan pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan diperkotaan diharapkan dapat mendorong kesejahteraan masyarakat. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan dengan tanaman hortikultura dan tanaman obat keluarga (TOGA). Metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan kegiatan ini adalah dengan pemberdayaan masyarakat tentang pemanfaatan lahan sempit yang terbengkalai dilingkungan sekitar, masyarakat diberikan pengetahuan mengenai peranan pekarangan dalam meningkatkan gizi, pendapatan, dan sumber pengobatan bagi keluarga melalui ceramah dan diskusi. Setelah memperoleh pengetahuan mengenai peranan pekarangan, masyarakat diberikan contoh secara langsung melalui penanaman tanaman sayuran dan obat-obatan sebagai langkah pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan secara intensif. Berdasarkan percontohan yang dilakukan, anggota masyarakat di RT.03/RW.XVII Kelurahan Sumber Kecamatan Banjarsari Kota Surakarta mudah memahami manfaat dari pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan yang dimiliki dan tertarik untuk empraktekkannya lebih lanjut karena waktu panen yang relatif singkat dan proses penanaman yang cukup mudah.
