Purpose – foreign and Lithuanian researchers analyse the benefits of ITS (Intelligent transport systems) application and development opportunities in various aspects. Due to the rapid development of technology, most authors emphasise the need for new or at least repeated research on intelligent transport systems ITS. The aim of this article is to evaluate the factors determining the development of ITS after theoretical substantiation. Research methodology – the primary data was collected from the following databases: Eurostat, OECD, World Bank. This study uses the analysis of scientific literature, expert survey, multicriteria assessment (SAW and COPRAS methods). Findings – the results of this article indicate which factors determine the development of ITS the most: investments, the aim to increase road safety, well-developed infrastructure. It also identifies which of the chosen for analaysis countries has the greatest potential for developing of ITS – Germany. Research limitations – firstly, due to the lack of statistics only eight countries are included and the period of analysis is only two years. Another limitation is that experts from only two countries completed the survey. Practical implications – research on the development of ITS is carried out in order to analyse the country that has the biggest opportunity to develop ITS and the factors affecting the mentioned development. The results can be beneficial for ministries of transport in different countries for planning the application of ITS. Originality/Value – current study contributes to the existing literature by examining the specific factors affecting the development of ITS that were not analysed earlier. This article differs from others as includes some Northern ,Western European and Baltic countries. Findings can be used by government in planning the installation of ITS to get the maximum benefit from it.
The objective is to highlight the main problem areas of the green economy in the global market, based on international proposals from the international organizations for the green economy, research on raw materials and empirical data. Research methods applied: scientific literature analysis, systematization, comparative analysis, generalization. The results of the survey allowed to highlight the main areas of the green economy. It presents the concept and development of the green economy, and identifies key areas for the green economy that need to be addressed. Each of the detailed areas is divided into separate components. According to the unique areas of the green economy, the evolution of each area has been analyzed in order to test how the other depends on changes in global markets.
Although nowadays knowledge is considered one of the main resources in organisations to create competitive advantage, there is a lack of research dedicated to the subject of knowledge and in particular knowledge synergy. After examining the content, types and properties of knowledge, the article provides definitions of knowledge potential and knowledge synergy that lead to the identification of its links and the constructive development of systematic research of knowledge synergy. The analysis of a knowledge synergy structure and the refinement of its components, i.e. employee's knowledge, relations among employees and types of knowledge synergy relations, serve as a basis for a fundamental diagram of knowledge synergy evaluation and a calculation formula for knowledge synergy, as well as for suggestions on the evaluation of knowledge synergy components. JEL classification:D83, D23, J24
Not only the size but also the composition of shadow economy and undeclared work are different in the EU Member States. The illegal work is apparent in sectors, where there is a high need of physical work, not requiring high qualification or competence, which is often associated with the second job that is performed in order to increase the income in an unofficial way, when the employers pay the whole or part of the salary illegally in order to avoid taxes; the employees work based on the contracts that are filled in an incorrect manner or without them, as well as when the overtime is not recorded, etc. The analysis of a scientific literature shows that the change and the situation in the market of the illegal work are assessed basing them on different methodological approaches, based on unequal criteria, the reformation of the labour market in different countries is implemented in different direction/uneven track. This is related not only with different economic and social status of the countries, demographical changes, legal basis, but also with different policy, views and assessment indicators. Objectives of the research: 1) considering the variety of theoretical concepts for illegal work, to specify the changes in the definition of illegal work in the individual EU countries; 2) to identify the assessment methodologies of illegal work and changes of its extent; 3) to review the extents of illegal work in the EU countries and Lithuania, by providing measures for reducing it.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
