Several authors have observed that methylxanthines derivatives could increase. the duration of activity of ejaculated human spermatozoa (Glezerman et al. -1978; Haesungshartm and Chulavatnatal -1973; Hicks et al. -1972;Schoenfeld et al. -1975; Turner et al. -1978). In previous studies (Aparicio et al. -1980) it was showed that Pentoxifylline, a methylxanthine derivate (Popendiker et al. -1971) with a longer lasting effect and a higher hydrosolubility than other agents of the group, could also improve, by in vitro incorporation, the duration activity of ejaculated spermatozoa of normal men (Aparicio et al. -1980).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
