The paper presents a new way to assess the environmental impact on historical artifacts using binary logistic regression. The mathematical model developed on the environmental parameters analyzed by the binary logistic regression method could be useful in a decision-making process establishing the best measures for pollution reduction and preventive preservation of exhibits.
A method for the determination of formic and acetic acids was realized and validated in this work. The separation of the two organic acids was optimized in 10 minutes on an IonPac AS-18 column coupled with precolumns, isocratic mode, 0.250ml/min flow and a mobile phase consisting in KOH 10mM. The quantification of the interested compounds was done by external standard. Then, the method was validated by analyzing selectivity, linearity, limit of detection, limit of quantification, precision and accuracy. The validated method can be described as a simple and also low cost method for the determination of formic and acetic acid in air samplers.
The aim of this study was to determine the chemical composition of wet depositions in two locations from urban and rural area near Bucharest from January to May 2017. For all the samples, pH, conductivity, anions, cations and heavy metals were determined. For anions (Cl -, NO3 -and SO4 2-) and cations (Ca 2+ , K + , Mg 2+ , Na 2+ ) determination an ion chromatographic method was used. Heavy metals (Co, Cr, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn) were determined using AAS with flame and graphite chamber. Results showed the presence of the interested compounds in wet depositions samples with SO42-and Ca 2+ as the dominant anion and cation. Heavy metals concentration followed the trend: Zn > Mn > Cu > Pb > Ni > Cr > Co. Analysing the results obtained the potential sources of ambient air pollution were also suggested.
This paper brings into attention of the indoor air specialists new information regarding the assessment of the potential cumulated impact of the air chemical compounds and microclimate factors on materials; for exemplification it was selected a wooden church made by oak and the monitoring values for temperature, humidity and the concentration of four chemical compounds with a destructive potential on organic materials generally: NO2, SO2, O3 and PM2.5.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
