The present study examined Negativism Dominance Scale scores in a number of regularly-participating sports populations. The results did not support predictions that (1) participation in risk sports might be linked with high scores on proactive negativism or that (2) team-sport performers, especially those at a high level, might be less negativistic dominant (i.e., more conformist) than individual-sport performers.
