The application of leuco-thionine blue (LTB) as a reducing agent in flow injection analysis is described. Results for the determination of periodate, chromate, vanadate and hexacyanoferrate(ll1) are presented. With spectrophotometric detection, based on the absorption of thionine blue at 670 nm, the limits of determination were of the order of 10-5 moll-1. The proposed method has been applied to the resolution of CrVl -Crlll mixtures and to the determination of both chromium and vanadium in steels, vanadium in petroleum products and hexacyanoferrate(ll1) in photographic solutions. Keywords: leuco-Thionine blue; flow injection analysis; chromium, vanadium, periodafe and hexac yam ferrate(ll1) determinations Paper 8100243F
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
