ENGELSK ABSTRACT:
Erik Petrovski: The Stable Volunteers. The Importance of Capital Resources, Life Phases and Organizational Context for Sustained Volunteer Work
I hypothesize that sustained volunteer work over longer periods of time depends on the capital resources that are brought into the work, the life phase in which the work takes place, and the organizational context in which the work is performed. I test this hypothesis using panel data from the Danish population survey on volunteer work from 2004 and 2012. I conclude that the organizational context of volunteering (including membership and work intensity) has a stronger effect on sustained volunteering than capital resources and life phases.
