With CT-PP there seems to be a reduction in the threshold of detectability of peritoneal implants. The direct demonstration of intraperitoneal adhesions is an important secondary finding. Disadvantages of CT-PP are (1) it is a time-consuming method and (2) it does not evaluate all the peritoneal recesses potentially involved in peritoneal carcinomatosis.
The ovarian hyperstimulation after the sole administration of GnRHa is a rare condition. Oocyte retrieval may be a reasonable treatment under these circumstances instead of cycle cancellation. As far as it is known, this is the third case reported of a live birth following the sole administration of GnRHa in the context of IVF.
Sclerosing stromal tumors (SSTs) are a rare type of benign tumors of the ovary, representing 6% of sex cord tumors subtype. We report a case of SSTs affecting a young female patient presenting with abdominal pain and a pelvic mass on imaging examination. The patient underwent laparoscopic right salpingo-oophorectomy, and the pathology report confirmed the diagnosis of SSTs. A review of the literature with the typical pathological and imaging features of SSTs as well their management is performed.
