As viewed by many linguists, writing skill is the most difficult one in English to be tough or learned. For many years, writing has not been a favorable interest like the other skills. This paper is intended to discuss the role and the effectiveness of using computer edutainment or called Education and Entertainment in improving students’ writing. The subjects of this research were the students’ class XI A. Meanwhile, the objects of this research are students’ skill in writing through Computer Edutainment. In this research the researcher used CAR (Classroom Action Research) as the research method, there is 2 technique of collecting the data in this research those are qualitative data and quantitative data. The quantitative data are in the form of numerical data. The data are from students' score of pre-test and post-test while the qualitative used in collecting the data were taken from the result of observation and interview. This study used several data instrument in gathering the data dealing with the question of the study, i.e: writing test in the form of writing essay, observation field note, and interview. The data were then analyzed whether their writing results were reaching the minimum standard or not, and having improvement or not. From the comparisons, the researcher makes a conclusion in the form of descriptions whether the students' ability of XI of SMAN 1 PAJO in writing has improved by the use of computer edutainment or not.
This study was aimed to know the writing anecdote skill in the first grade students of SMAN 3 Praya, the researcher chose the anecdote as the material because there are 13 kind of text in English, but anecdote is rarely taught by the teacher whereas anecdote is interesting story about a real incident or person and the students may interested when they learn about anecdote text. This research used scientific method, The term “Scientific Method” gained its popularity in the field of education in Indonesia when Curriculum 2013 was launched by Ministry of Education and Culture in 2013, It is explicitly stated in the curriculum that, with its excellences, the scientific method is very important for a better quality of teaching and learning to develop students’ affection, knowledge, and skills. The researcher did a qualitative case study with the total 30 students’ involved as well as participant. This study used several data instrument in gathering the data dealing with the question of the study, i.e: observation, interview and questionnaire form to collect the data in a case study to explore (1.) whether or not the teacher is able to implement scientific method to teach writing anecdote skill; (2) how the teacher interprets scientific method; (3) the students’ perception toward anecdote text and scientific based learning activity. This research might be the window for further studies or reference to explore the potential benefit and challenge of scientific method in teaching writing anecdote text, particularly for senior high school level.
Pengabdian masyarakat adalah suatu Gerakan atau proses pemberdayaan diri yang dilaksanakan oleh dosen tetap maupun mahasiswa untuk kepentingan masyarakat. Pengabdian masyarakat besifat berkesinambungan dan dalam jangka panjang karena dalam membangun sebuah pengabdian di dalam masyarakat dibutuhkan proses yang panjang. Banyak aspek yang harus di sentuh untuk menjadikan masyarakat itu lebih baik, karakternya, budidayanya, sampai pola pikirnya harus disentuh untuk benar-benar menciptakan suatu masyarakat yang lebih baik dan berkualitas. Pengabdian merupakan salah satu yang wajib kita laksanakan dari tiga tri dharma perguruan tinggi. KKN Tematik yang dilaksanakan oleh kampus Institut Pendidikan Nusantara Global tahun 2022 mengedepankan tema Membangun desa melalui pendidikan. Tema itulah yang dari awal kita bangun untuk mencari informasi disekitar tempat kami melakukan kewajiban KKN ini. Membantu masyarakat dalam membangun desa melalui pendidikan ini dimaksudkan untuk membantu masyarakat tidak hanya dalam pelaksanaan pembangunan diberbagai bidang terutama pendidikan, tetapi juga dapat membantu warga dalam pembangunan di bidang ekonomi, lingkungan dan kesehatan. Kelompok KKN tematik ini melakukan kegiatan KKN tematik terintegrasi di salah satu desa yang berada di kecamatan jonggat tepatnya di Desa Bunkate. Penduduk desa bunkate umumnya bergerak di bidang budidaya pertanian, serta berdagang. Pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui peningkatkan kualitas pendidikan, ekonomi, kesehatan dan lingkungan masyarakat Bunkate.
This research aims to determine the role of the Wattpad application in honing the ability to write short stories for second grade students of SMAN 3 Praya. This type of research uses qualitative research with descriptive methods. The subjects of this research were students of class XI IPA 2 at SMA Negeri 3 Praya in the academic year 2022/2023, consisting of 13 boys and 18 girls. The researcher uses observation sheets, interview, and documentation to collect the data. The results of this research show that the Wattpad application makes it easy to train readers' imaginations and provide ideas that can be developed more broadly, Wattpad trains them to empathize, so they can pour various emotions into their stories and teach students how to write good and correct stories, so that there is a desire to be able to write for students after reading several stories contained in the Wattpad application. The conclusion from the research was the Wattpad application can help students to improve students' writing short stories because in the Wattpad application they learn to make good stories, use the right words and build emotions in a story.
This study was aimed to know the perception of the second semester of English department students’ in Institut Pendidikan Nusantara Global when they have to use daring learning as a media for their learning process when they did the quarantine because of the COVID-19 virus. The researcher did a qualitative case study with a total 32 students’ involved as well as participants. This study used several data instruments in gathering the data dealing with the question of the study, i.e: analysis of students’ writing tests in the form of writing essays and interviews. The researcher also gave a detailed description of a case study – its definition, some classifications, and several advantages and disadvantages –to provide a better understanding of this widely used daring study. The data were then analyzed whether their writing results were reaching the minimum standard or not and were the students doing well in a daring study or not. From the comparisons, the researcher makes a conclusion in the form of descriptions whether the students of the English department in Institut Pendidikan Nusantara Global enjoy their daring study while quarantining or not.
