The article describes the potential of interaction at the junction of the two disciplines for using artificial intelligence to predict the course and severity of the new coronavirus infection COVID-19, including in patients with acute respiratory failure. An analysis of the experience of various forecasting models is presented, the reasons for successful and unsuccessful outcomes are revealed, and an opinion on the role and place of machine learning in developing a strategy for preventing the spread of the disease is given as well.
