In recent time the stealing of grazing cattle have increased in Nigeria giving the herdsmen the excuse of carrying dangerous weapons. Many soldiers are deployed to watch cattle instead of engaging them in more defense resourceful ventures. Internet of Things (IoT) is a computer and internet technology that creates an environment in which objects, animals and people are provided with unique identifiers and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction. This paper proposes a design of an IoT system that will allow the implantation of sensors in the cows so that their movement can be easily monitored.
