A 33-year-old male with Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic granulocytic leukemia developed an erythroblastic transformation of the disease that was characterized cytogenetically by marked hyperdiploidy with multiple numerical and structural abnorrrialities. It is suggested that such bizarre chromosome abnormalities may be helpful in the diagnosis of this variety of transformation.
