Measuremenu are reponed of Auger (autoionization) spectra of AI and Kr produced by bombarding AI and Si substrates with Art and Kr* ions in the 110 eV-5 keV energy m g e . These are shown to be coflsistenl wilh the simple Doppler model suggested, for Ne on AI and Si, in a previous paper. Once corrected using the model, the observed Auger energies are shown to correspond lo lheoretical predictions produced using D-Fock calculations.
The two-body dispersion interactions between multipoles of the hydrogen atoms have been worked out using [2,1] and [3,2] Padé approximants and generalized Casimir–Polder integral formulas. Energy coefficients which appear in the expression for the interaction energy of E2 (H–H), obtained up to the term R−16, are in agreement with those of Dalgarno and Meath.
Inverse photoemission and 3p3d giant resonance excitation in electron energy loss spectroscopy in oxidized Sc are related to 2p + 3d x-ray absorption in SC~O,. The observations are shown to be cntLsistenf with 3d states being localired in both the presence and &he absence of a COR hole. Inverse photoemission reveals 3d crystal field splilting comparable to fhat found in 2p -, 3d excitations. while 3 p 3 d excitations show in addition strong hole-electmn exchange mupling.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
