We report a case of testicular torsion in the left inguinal canal of a 7 month old with a history of cryptorchism and no evidence of neuromuscular disease. We discuss the pathophysiological mechanisms, sonographic findings, and treatment of this rare entity.
One of the most serious potential complications of vertebroplasty or kyphoplasty is the embolization of methylmethacrylate cement into the pulmonary arteries. We present an overview of the subject and a pictorial review the spectrum of radiographic and computed tomographic appearances of methylmethacrylate cement pulmonary emboli.
Computed tomography (CT) is often the first modality ordered in patients with suspected bowel obstruction. Three-dimensional (3D) CT imaging is now seen as a valuable tool for illustrating pathologic findings to clinicians and surgeons. Three cases are reported in which 3D CT volume rendering was used to demonstrate transition points in proximal small bowel obstructions in patients who had received oral contrast.
