Total Synthesis of Adalinine: Confirmation of Its Structure.-Adalinine (VIII), a new piperidine alkaloid, is prepared in racemic form in five steps starting from cyclopentanone, involving Beckmann rearrangement of the oxime (VI) as the key step.
