We characterized the complete genome sequence of actinobacteriophage Yavru (
Siphoviridae
), a cluster FE bacteriophage infecting
Arthrobacter globiformis
NRRL B-2979; it was 89.5% identical to cluster FE phage Whytu, with a capsid width of 50 nm and a tail length of 90 nm. The genome was 15,193 bp in length, with 23 predicted protein-coding genes.
Xanthobacter aminoxidans
is a Gram-negative pleomorphic and diazotrophic Knallgas bacillus that undergoes asymmetric budding of V-shaped branched cells during cell division. Like other
Xanthobacter
spp., cells are yellow from production of zeaxanthine dirhamnoside. We sequenced strain 14a
T
(= ATCC BAA-299
T
) and report a genome size of 5,829,486 bp with a G+C content of 67.9%.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
