Cartography is a science on making a map or globe. As of now the field of cartography constitute visualization in 2-dimensional form (2D). In order to fix the quality of the cartography, a map similar to thereal situation in three-dimensional visualization (3D) can be created. The research aims to design a beach tourism created by Google SketchUp application. Designing of 3D map is in accordance with the rules of software engineering that starts from planning, modeling and construction. Google SketchUp is an excellent graphics software in the manufacture of physical design such as building design, home design, etc. In addition to ease of building design, the excellence of Google SketchUp also makes it easy to build a 3D design that gives more interesting impression compared to 2D design. The instrument of expert validation performed by 3 experts validator who is a lecturer State University of Makassar. Based on the results from validator clear that the system is proper to use, thus agree with the decent category used as tourism information material which is more interesting attractions. This is evidenced by the utilization of android based applications.
Ecotourism development is one of the important assets to promote conservation and sustainable economic development in the tourist destinations. The implementation of ecotourism can be initiated through Community-based Ecotourism (CBET). CBET promotes participation in natural and cultural resource management as well as to seek benefits for the economic development of the local community in which ecotourism takes place. However, the implication of CBET in several places is far from the target to achieve sustainability. It was identified that the sustainability was caused by mutual symbiotic and benefits among local economic livelihood, cultural preservation, and environmental conservation. One of the main hindering factors for the implementation of CBET to create mutual symbiotic among those aspects is insufficient social capital. This finding is based on reviews of related literature particularly about social capital in CBET. In addition, social capital and CBET’s main issues in economic, culture and environment were analysed. The result shows that social capital was found important and worthy to be given special attention because it includes basic social features i.e. norms, social trust and networks. For example, the success of CBET can be seen in the case study conducted in Tumani Tenda Camp Village-Gambia, West Africa. It was showed that social capital has created positive impact on economic development, environmental management and cultural preservation. By setting up structured social capital, local people currently have less relied on other villages to provide poultry for the camp and even can sell the surplus. For a high level of social capital, this village has become the first village winning the National Environmental Agency’s competition for ecocamp development in forest program. In terms of cultural preservation, social capital helped villagers in building trust and participation in several rituals or village’s activities. However, conformity and restriction on the norms and rules in the village will be negative consequences of social capital in Tumani Tenda Camp Village. Thus, social capital in CBET should be put into account for its important roles in supporting economic development, environmental management and cultural activities in many other tourism sites.
The peak of the tourism industry in West Nusa Tenggara before the COVID-19 pandemic suggested that its position was already in the stagnation stage according to TALC (Tourism Area Life Cycle). Also, the stage can be aligned with PLC (Product Life Cycle) which is known as the maturity stage. This research extracted opinions from tourism industry stakeholders by using multiple FGD (Focus Group Discussion) and summarized the result into a recommendation to avoid the declining stage of the tourism industry, especially in West Nusa Tenggara. One of the main conclusive answers is optimizing e-tourism at an innovative pace. However, this step does not only need good commitment, support, and collaborative intention from whole stakeholders but also good preparation from local human resources to support its sustainability. This preparation should be fulfilled by local vocational higher education in West Nusa Tenggara which is known as Tourism Polytechnic Lombok.
Tourism is one of the areas that has undergone a recovery during the post-pandemic period. However, numerous factors must be considered before this industry can recover from the epidemic that has led tourism to decline globally. This is a crucial question for tourist stakeholders in post-pandemic times. Post-pandemic tourism faced several obstacles in practically all nations, and local governments handled them in different ways. Many experts began writing about tourism's sustainability during and after the pandemic. Based on this, a literature evaluation is required that carefully filters and examines the post-pandemic sustainability of tourism. The results of the review can answer the research questions: whether the right and feasible policies or strategies are implemented in the post-pandemic period for tourism industry players; and what technology is most suitable for tourism sustainability in the post-pandemic period. To answer these questions, a literature review on the topic of tourist sustainability in the post-pandemic period was conducted. The PRISMA approach was used in this study's literature review to attain this purpose. The initial selection was made using Scopus, Proquest, Emerald and Semantic Scholar databases resulting in a total of 386 articles since 2020 based on articles that have been applied filtering and screening processes; they can be categorized into four article topics, namely: Case Study, Conceptual, Strategy and Technology. The findings of the article review that PRISMA can be utilized. For the first question about policies and strategies, synergy and cooperation between components within the penta helix are required before defining tourism-related policies. To ensure tourist sustainability after the crisis phase, it is vital to generate optimism and excitement among tourism industry participants and local residents. Concerning the second research subject, the filtering study lacks research using methods other than those in the trend, such as MCDM or candlestick charts. Future studies can utilise past research. So the distance between research results and actual market conditions can be overcome; if the gap is crossed, the study's conclusions can be employed empirically in stock trading, not just on paper.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
