We evaluated the effect of closure or non-closure of parietal and visceral peritoneum during caesarean section (CS) on post-caesarean pain and analgesic requirement. A total of 94 primigravidas planned for elective CS were prospectively enrolled into closure (n = 46) and non-closure (n = 48) groups. Analgesia was provided by a patient-controlled analgesia pump (PCA) postoperatively. Pain was evaluated using a visual analogue scale (VAS) and verbal rating scale (VRS). Total dose of analgesics administered through PCA and times of analgesia demand and additional analgesics were also assessed. VAS and VRS scores were similar between the groups. The total dose of analgesics administered were similar (p = 0.095) between groups, however the mean number of analgesic demand (p = 0.020) and the additional analgesics (p < 0.001) were higher in the closure group. As a conclusion, the closure or non-closure of the peritoneum does not have any impact on postoperative pain intensity, however the analgesia demand and additional analgesia requirement decreases with non-closure.
ABSTRACT1960s was the golden age for left-socialist thought in political, social and ideological terms in Turkey. The rise of left movements during this period led to diversification and gradual division. The framework of the division on the left was caused by history discussions and alliance and strategy divisions. Leftist movements approaching Turkey's current problems from a historical perspective have determined the direction and methods for radical social change they hope will happen in this period. Leftist movements supporting direction and method of social change with historical references in Turkey as a backward country in pursuit of independence and development, basically have analyzed Ottoman period, the single-party era and Democratic Party period and starting from this point of view have developed their thoughts based on different conceptual and theoretical tools. One of these thoughts that marked the 1960s and subsequent years is the idea of "National Left". One of the leading representatives of this thought is Attilâ İlhan. İlhan who synthesized Kemalism and Socialism with a national sensitivity and developed it on a dialectic platform, appealed to Turkey in 1960s in a distinctive and local way. İlhan, who is generally known for his literary works and poet identity, is an original pen whose voice echoes in the political thought life of the Republic period with his writings in many newspapers and magazines.
