Located in the Ring of Fire, Indonesia has approximately 28.91 GW of geothermal energy potential, but less than 5% of these resources have been utilized thus far (Pambudi 2018). The Indonesian government plans to improve the utilization of geothermal power plants; unfortunately, as demonstrated in Fig. 1, it can be seen that electricity generation from geothermal power plants in Indonesia has thus far increased only incrementally.
