This research was conducted at D-IV Midwifery, University Muhammadiyah Gorontalo. This type of research is a descriptive correlational research with a cross sectional quantitative approach, because it aims to determine the relationship of motivation to become a midwife with a cumulative achievement index for semester VIII D-IV Midwifery University Muhammadiyah Gorontalo. The sample in this study were 53 students. This research instrument uses a questionnaire to retrieve data about motivation to become a midwife. Analysis of the data in this study using the chi-square test analysis showed that the value of P value = 0,000 is smaller than the value of ɑ = 0.05 (p <0.05). So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between motivation to become a midwife with a cumulative achievement index for semester VIII D-IV Midwifery students University Muhammadiyah GorontaloABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilakukan di D-IV Kebidanan Universitas Muhammadiyah Gorontalo. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian desktiprif korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif cross sectional, karena bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan motivasi menjadi bidan dengan indeks prestasi kumulatif mahasiswa semester VIII D-IV Kebidanan Universitas Muhammadiyah Gorontalo. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 53 orang mahasiswa. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan kuisioner untuk mengambil data tentang motivasi menjadi bidan. Analisa data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisa uji chi-square menunjukkan bahwa nilai P value = 0,000 lebih kecil dari nilai ɑ = 0,05 (p<0,05). Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan motivasi menjadi bidan dengan indeks prestasi kumulatif mahasiswa semester VIII D-IV Kebidanan Universitas Muhammadiyah Gorontalo.
