Dengue hemorrhagic fever is a disease that requires prompt and appropriate treatment so that the sufferer does not experience a more severe condition. This disease is spread in almost all parts of Indonesia and has become a public health problem because many areas are endemic. The purpose of this study was to compare and determine the effect of providing health promotion with the lecture and small group discussion method on community behavior changes in eradicating mosquito nests. The design of this research was a survey method with a quasi-experimental design. This study was conducted in Gunungkidul District from May to July 2020. The number of samples was 400 persons, a total of 200 subjects were given health promotion interventions with the lecture method and 200 subjects were given a small group discussion method. The presence of mosquito larvae was checked before and after the intervention. The Mann-Whitney test was used when the data are not normally distributed. The result of this study show that health promotion with the small group discussion method is more effective than the lecture method on community behavior in eradicating mosquito nests.
Aged people will experience several changes in all aspects of life including, physical, psychological, spiritual, and social. Their altered condition such as hearing deprivation, loss of vision, or fluctuating emotions will affect how the way they communicate with other family members. Thus, the family should be more concerned regarding this issue, unless they will have ineffective communication. Moreover, it may lead to trigger a conflict among family members. To unravel this problem, an education on effective communication for aged people using a module will help them to improve strategies for managing the elderly's communication problems. This activity involved 67 families with elderly and 7 health volunteers in Kelurahan Patangpuluhan Wirobrajan Yogyakarta. The result showed that education could elevate the score of effective communication among aged people, both family, and health volunteers. However, health volunteers had a higher average score than family
The huge potential of genetic resources has made Indonesia one of the goals of bioprospection and even biopiracy from other countries which has actually harmed the Indonesian state both legally and economically. Referring to the importance of managing genetic resources and traditional knowledge, there have been many political results of national law that have been created to regulate the protection and management of genetic resources and traditional knowledge. One of the products of the political law is Law no. 13 of 2016 concerning Patents. Therefore, this study aims to examine the legal protection aspects of genetic resources and traditional knowledge in terms of Law Number 13 of 2016 concerning Patents, opportunities and challenges for Indonesia in utilizing the protection of the SDG to empower an economy based on biodiversity and traditional knowledge. This research is a normative research with qualitative data analysis. Normative research is carried out with a literature study approach consisting of primary and secondary legal materials. The research results show that Law No. 13 Year 2016 regarding Patents have loaded a better legal protection against patent-based genetic resources and traditional knowledge (GR-TK) both preventive and repressive. The opportunity for GR-TK potential is if database can be managed centrally, systematically and completely, it will facilitate utilization and arrangement of benefit sharing access so that benefits felt by Indonesia as country that owns GR-TK are more optimal. The challenge faced is that management of GR-TK database systematically and completely by a special authority has not been established by Government. Arrangements regarding benefit sharing in GR-TK utilization has not made the technical regulations governing them.
Islamic religious learning at school, which is only two hours a week, makes parents aware of the importance of religious education as one of the provisions of life for their children. The origins of Madrasah Diniyah are similar to those of Islamic boarding schools, beginning with recitation in mosques, langar, and surau. Madrasas, as Islamic educational institutions, have emerged and developed along with the entry and development of Islam in Indonesia. The importance of religious education is also felt by several madrasas, which require their students to live in dormitories, or what we know as boarding.
