This study suggests that FHP is not associated with PPTs in asymptomatic university students. In university students with subclinical neck pain, increased FHP was associated with right trapezius hypoalgesia and with neck pain of shorter duration. These findings are in contrast with current assumptions on the association between neck pain and FHP.
Several novel compounds with the non-linear optical chromophore 2-amino-5-nitropyridine (2A5NP) and Keggin polyoxoanions (alpha-isomers), having the general formula (2A5NP)(m)H(n)[XM12O40].xH2O, M = Mo, W, were synthesised. Compounds were obtained with X = P, n = 3, m = 3 and 4 and X = Si, n = m = 4 (x = 2-6). Thus, for each of the anions [PMo12O40]3- and [PW12O40]3- two different compounds were obtained, with the same anion and organic counterpart but with a different stoichiometric ratio. These presented different charge transfer properties and thermal stability. All compounds were characterised by spectroscopic and analytical techniques. The single crystal X-ray diffraction structure of (2A5NP)4H3[PMo12O40].2.5H2O.0.5C2H5OH showed that the water solvent molecules and the organic chromophores are assembled via infinite one-dimensional chains of hydrogen bonds with formation of open channels, which accommodate [PMo12O40]3- and ethanol solvent molecules.
The iron(III) μ-oxo bridged dimeric polyoxometalate [(PW(11)O(39)Fe)(2)O](10-) was isolated by reacting the transition metal monosubstituted Keggin anion [PW(11)O(39)Fe(H(2)O)](4-) and the ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide, (Bmim)Br, at pH 5.5. The crystal structure of (Bmim)(10)[(PW(11)O(39)Fe)(2)O]·0.5H(2)O (1) (monoclinic, space group P2(1)/n, Z = 4) was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. By changing the reaction conditions, (Bmim)(4)[PW(11)O(39)Fe(H(2)O)]·H(2)O (2) was obtained, whilst the reaction between the Bmim(+) cation and the heteropolyanion [SiW(11)O(39)Fe(H(2)O](5-), in the pH conditions used for 1, afforded (Bmim)(5)[SiW(11)O(39)Fe(H(2)O)]·4H(2)O (3). The compounds were characterized by spectroscopic techniques, thermal analysis, cyclic voltammetry, magnetic measurements and mass spectrometry. This study contributes to the understanding of iron μ-oxo dimer formation in polyoxometalate chemistry and calls attention to the influence of the counter-cations on the stability and formation of compound 1. The combination of the cationic part of ionic liquids and iron-substituted polyoxotungstates is predicted to lead to new materials with interest to catalysis, electrocatalysis and ionic liquid based nanocomposites.
The thermal conductivity of three mixtures of nitrogen and cyclopentane is measured using a transient hot wire method, at temperatures between 315.14 and 395.89 K, and pressures up to 0.53 MPa. These mixtures are important in the evaluation of the evolution of the thermal insulation capacity of closed-cell polyurethane foams considering their aging during the respective applications' total life time. The experimental thermal conductivity data are correlated with the Wassiljewa mixing rules as modified by Mason and Saxena, and predicted using extended corresponding states theory (ECST), with an average absolute deviation of 1.1 and 8.9%, respectively. The increase of the nitrogen fraction in cyclopentane-nitrogen mixtures leads to higher thermal conductivity values than has been predicted by ECST using only pure component thermal conductivity data for all measurements.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
