This research gives information about the practice of concreting work in Reinforced Concrete (RC) building project in Indonesia. The study area is Padang City, which has suffered severe damages due to September 2009 Earthquake. The target interviewee is 100 builders who are constructing RC buildings. This interview together with observation was conducted by directly visiting the construction sites. While collecting information about the main factors which contribute to RC building quality, e.g., concrete mixing, compaction, concrete placing and curing, the information about the profile of the builders have been collected. The results show that the workers dominate the profile of builders in productive age with 30 years experiences on average. However, 90% of the builders yet experience any construction workshop. The concreting work, which is conducted by the builders, yet reaches the required standard. More than 50% of the builders produced concrete with the higher water-cement ratio, and almost 65% admitted that they add more water after concrete`s setting time is finished. There are 3common methods of concrete compaction which is used. 6% of the builders use a vibrator, 43% use the rodding method, 28% use hummer, and 8% choose to add more water to placed concrete to increase concrete workability. Meanwhile, more than 60% of the builders do not cure the placed concrete. The results show that construction practice that is conducted by the local builders is needed to be improved. The mistakes seem to be repeated over a generation since the source of learning of the builders is mainly from their senior builder (77.25%) and self-learning (2.5%). Only 7.5% that admitted they had experienced on construction workshop.
Pemerintah Kota Padang bekerja sama dengan BPBD Kota Padang membuat peta evakuasi Kota Padang yang bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi kepada warga tentang arah dan posisi jalur untuk proses evakuasi, peta tersebut membagi Kota Padang menjadi 6 sektor. Sektor 6 memiliki daerah yang umumnya penduduknya cukup padat dan pada sektor 6 terdapat pula Pasar Raya dan Plaza Andalas yang merupakan tempat masyarakat melakukan transaksi jual beli yang tergolong ramai pengunjung. Analisis ini dilakukan untuk memaksimalkan jalur evakuasi pada zona merah sektor 6 menuju zona aman yang ditinjau dari peta evakuasi Kota Padang. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan kuantitatif yang berbentuk deskriptif dengan metode survei menggunakan instrumenn penelitian berupa kuesioner. Kuesioner tersebut terlebih dahulu di validasi Expert Judgement dan dilakukan uji coba kuesioner. Indikator yang dibahas pada kuesioner yaitu tentang kajian kapasitas, kajian waktu evakuasi, kajian teknis jalur evakuasi dan prinsip peta evakuasi. Sampel yang mengisi kuesioner harus memiliki kriteria yaitu pernah melakukan evakuasi bencana. Kesimpulan dari tugas akhir ini bahwa jalur evakuasi yang berada di zona merah sektor 6 peta evakuasi Kota Padang tidak efektif.
The use of bio-based material for repairing concrete is a relatively new method. Therefore, more results from simulated real-condition experiments are needed before being applied on a practical scale. In the recent past, several studies have been conducted on the improvement of bio-based repair materials. In this study, the bio-based material involving yeast, glucose, and calcium acetate mixed in a Tris buffer solution showed the potential to develop a microbial process leading to the precipitation of calcium carbonate. We investigated the factors affecting the precipitation rate of the calcium carbonate of bio-based materials for repairing leakage in the concrete specimens. Based on a series of experiments involving temperature, the type of dry yeast, and the concentration of the Tris buffer solution, the composition of bio-based materials with the highest precipitation rate of calcium carbonate was selected. The selected mixture could be applied to repair leakage of concrete until the cracks are sealed entirely.
Kegiatan komunikasi K3 merupakan bentuk sosialisasi K3 dalam rangka meningkatkan periku K3 seluruh kalangan di proyek konstruksi. Namun kenyataan dilapangan, hanya sebagian kecil partisipan yang mengikuti komunikasi K3 dengan serius. Selain itu, efektifitas kegiatan tersebut dinilai kecil karena banyak pelanggaran APD yang dilakukan baik pekerja, karyawan ataupun tamu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi komunikasi K3 eksternal dengan tingkat kepatuhan APD. Penelitian ini bersifat kuantitaf dengan desain deskriptif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kusioner yang disebarkan kepada tamu proyek dengan jumlah 15 sampel. Uji validasi instrumen dilakukan dengan expert judgment dengan 3 validator isi dan 1 validator bahasa. Analisis dilakukan dengan uji korelasi product moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan antara komunikasi K3 external dengan kepatuhan APD bahwa thitung < ttabel (0,725953115 < 2,262). Berdasarkan penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa, kegiatan komunikasi K3 external sudah berjalan baik (82,6%). dan tingkat kepatuhan APD berada pada kategori baik (83,49%).
Since the inactivity of the Bingkuang Regional Terminal in 2009, the city of Padang no longer has a bus terminal, which causes many shadow terminals in the city of Padang. Anak Air Type A Terminal is still quiet due to its location which is far from the city center, and access to the Anak Air Type A Terminal is considered quite difficult. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the perception of the Trans Padang bus driver on the location of the Anak Air Type A Terminal and the completeness of the facilities it has. The standard used in this study is the Decree of the Director General of Land Transportation No. 31 of 1995 concerning Road Transportation Terminals. The purpose of this study was to find out and provide the opinion of bus drivers on the existence of Anak Air Type A Terminal in Padang City and determine the feasibility of the Anak Aia Terminal based on the facilities it has. The method used in this research is qualitative type. The sample in this study was the Trans Padang bus driver. The data were collected by using interview techniques with Trans Padang bus drivers who enter the Anak Air Type A Terminal every day, observations at the terminal location to record the facilities that this terminal already has and documentation in the form of photographs. The results of the research that has been carried out through interviews with Trans Padang bus drivers found 3 keywords, namely the location of the terminal which is considered appropriate, access to the terminal is difficult to pass and there are still many facilities that are not yet available at Anak Air Type A Terminal.
