Abstract. This paper presents the characteristics of utilization of forest residues in solid oxide fuel cell hybrid systems. A method is proposed to evaluate the profitability of these systems taking into account the point of view of the investor. On the other hand, and from the point of view of the electric distribution company, an algorithm is suggested to reduce power losses in distribution networks and purchased energy costs.
