Abstract.Term selection process is a very necessary component for most natural language processing tasks. Although different unsupervised techniques have been proposed, the best results are obtained with a high computational cost, for instance, those based on the use of entropy. The aim of this paper is to propose an unsupervised term selection technique based on the use of a bigram-enriched version of the transition point. Our approach reduces the corpus vocabulary size by using the transition point technique and, thereafter, it expands the reduced corpus with bigrams obtained from the same corpus, i.e., without external knowledge sources. This approach provides a considerable dimensionality reduction of the TREC-5 collection and, also has shown to improve precision for some entropy-based methods.
1 Two novel techniques based on term expansion for domain-specific Word Sense Disambiguation are presented in this paper. A list of terms correlated with the ambiguous word is obtained by means of correlation methods such as Pointwise Mutual Information and Chi-square. The list of correlated terms is used for expanding the context in which an ambiguous word occurs, thus leading to a better number of terms which may be further used for determining the correct sense of the target ambiguous word. The proposed method has been tested in domain-specific corpora (Finance and Sports) and in one balanced corpus, the British National Corpus (BNC). The obtained results for domain-specific corpora are competitive (Finance) and ever better (Sports and BNC) than those reported in previous works.
En la actualidad, el Perú atraviesa por problemas que se direccionan a las entidades públicas y más aún en las municipalidades que se ven reflejadas por las dificultades que se presentan en el desempeño del colaborador, quien ve mermado su motivación por el poco incentivo que brinda la municipalidad, así como la sobrecarga de trabajo, documentación física entre otras cosas. El estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar la influencia de la gestión municipal en el desempeño laboral en una entidad pública en el Perú, la muestra que se consideró fue de 132 colaboradores administrativos y a través de los procedimientos estadístico se obtuvo como resultado que, la gestión municipal es percibido en un nivel medio por el 78,8% de los colaboradores, a la vez el desempeño laboral también se percibe con un nivel medio por el 75% de los colaboradores. Concluyendo, que la gestión municipal si influye en el desempeño laboral (R2= 0,684 y Anova = 0,000).
