Vicinal Bromostannanes as Novel Building Blocks for the Preparation of Di-and Trisubstituted Imidazoles. -Methods for the regioselective synthesis of novel vicinal bromostannyl imidazoles (III) and (VII) are discussed. These are suitable substrates for Stille couplings to give functionalized biaryls (IX) and (XI).
