Densities of seven straight-chain organic acids, including acetic acid,
propanoic acid, butanoic acid,
pentanoic acid, hexanoic acid, heptanoic acid, and octanoic acid, have
been measured by using a vibrating-tube densimeter in the temperature range from 293.15 K to 323.15 K and
pressure range from 0.1 MPa
to 25.0 MPa. Molar volumes of these organic acids have been
obtained from the measured densities and
fitted to polynomials as a function of temperature and pressure.
Thermal expansion coefficients and
isothermal compressibilities have been derived as a function of
temperature and pressure.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
