It is evident that the promptness, reliability and safety of sugammadex-facilitated reversal effects on rocuronium-induced neuromuscular block are superior to those of anticholinesterases. However, we should pay adequate attention to the facts that a train-of-four ratio of 0.9 objectively evaluated with a neuromuscular monitor cannot ensure an optimum recovery from neuromuscular block even after administration of sugammadex and that there may be a risk of recurarization when the dose of sugammadex is too low.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
