A procedure for simulation of the energy spectrum and angular distribution of the recoil nuclei from the (n, 1,2,3 H) reaction on a thick target is described. The model is based on the Monte Carlo technique and analytic geometry tools. It takes into account the main processes of neutron generation, their interaction with hydrogen in the specimen, the passage of the hydrogen recoil through matter, and the subsequent recording of the recoil. Comparison with calculated spectra of the experimental recoil spectra obtained by the NERD method for various geometric and thermodynamics conditions makes it possible to obtain the depth profile of the concentration of hydrogen isotopes in the specimens.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
