We report on an experiment to obtain differential cross sections for K + p elastic scattering in the vicinity of the possible exotic baryon, the Z:(1900).The d~fferential cross sections are based on typically 70 000 selected events in the angular region-0.9 5 cosOi, 0.9 at each of 22 momenta from 0.865 to 2.125 GeV/c. The data are intended for use in partial-wave analysis to search for the z:.
We measured the differential production cross section for producing pions in 12.2-GeV/c p-p collisions on lines of fixed P j and P ± in the cm. system. We found that d 2 cr/ dQdp is maximum at Pj =0, in disagreement with our earlier result, which supported the two-center model. We have evidence that the earlier result is wrong. It also appears that in the cm. system, d 2 a/d£ldp is factorable into functions of Pj and P±. In the P ± dependence we found a very sharp forward peak of the form e ~l bP ± .
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
