Elimination of hydrogen halide from a suitable dihydro precursor is a valuable method for the synthesis of aromatic heterocyclic compounds with heavier heteroatoms. It permits the observation of these compounds even if they are too unstable to be isolated, as we have shown in the case of tricyclic derivatives of phosphorin 1.It was tempting to apply this approach to the synthesis of unknown -H Hal sila-aromatic systems according to the scheme: I --f 11.
