ABSTRACT:The IR and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectra of mesoporous WO 3 /ZrO 2 are discussed and a scheme proposed for the acid site structure on the WO 3 /ZrO 2 surface. The high Brönsted acidity of WO 3 /ZrO 2 (H 0 ≤ −11.38) can be explained by the formation of large zirconium polytungstate species such as on the WO 3 /ZrO 2 surface.
Guest-host MEH-PPV/MCM-41 composites were prepared by liquid-phase self-assembly via insertion of poly[2-methoxy-5-(29-ethyl-hexyloxy)-1,4-phenylene vinylene] (MEH-PPV) macromolecules inside mesoporous silica. The effect of the solvent nature on the polymer loading and luminescence properties of the composites was explained by retained memory of the chain conformation in the parent solution. The intensity of photoluminescence of the obtained composites was found to be two orders of magnitude greater than that of the neat polymer.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
