Myrica salicifolia Hoechst (Myricaceae) root extract was found to have analgesic activity in mice. In rats there was antipyretic but no antiinflammatory activity.
538Poster the same manner. Concentrate the obtained methanolic liquid to nearly 50 ml and extract with three quantities, each of 100 ml, of ethyl acetat. Dry the combined ethyl acetat extracts with anhydrous sodium sulfate, filter and remove the solvent. To the residue add 50 ml of methylenchlorid, filter and evaporate the filtrate to dryness. Dissolve this residue in 250 ml methanol and dilute with an equal quantity of water (=4830 ml). Add 15 g Al203 to the solution, shake well, centrifuge and filter. To the well dried residue of 0•5 ml add 30 ml of a solution recently prepared by mixing equal quantities of a 2 per cent w/v ethanolic solution of DNB with a saturated solution of methanolic potassium hydroxide, allow to stand at roomtemperature, protected from light, for thirtyfive minutes. Measure the extinction of the resulting solution at 535 nm, using as the blank a pure solution mixture treated in the similar manner. From the values of extinction, calculate the content of Si related to dihydrohelenalinacetat (E°m = 141).The content of helenalin and dihydrohelenalin derivatives determinated by this method amounted to 0,51 % in A. montana flowerheads, and was in agreement with values established by us with other methods [3]. Quantitativ determination of A. chamissonis ssp. foliosa flowers from several geographical origins showed amounts between 0,1 and 0,55 %.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
