Cloud computing is the BuzzWord of today. Its business models like PaaS, SaaS and IaaS have been some of the biggest changes in todays world impacting not only the computer industry but also several other fields, one such is the health care. Health care industry is slowly moving towards cloud because of the benefits provided by cloud computing. As Patient data are very sensitive records that should not be made available to unauthorized people there comes the challenge of security in order to protect patient's information. However, cloud technology is vulnerable to cyber gaps that pose an adverse impact on the security and privacy of patient's electronic health records and in these situations, security challenges in cloud computing environment are a matter of challenge with rising usage of cloud technology.
With rapid increase in the use of computer network in the fields of industries, education, commerce, social media etc., makes the data security a need of hour. And one of the major threats for data security is the network intrusions, where the attacker intruded the network to steal confidential data's like (passwords, account details, etc.,), tries to stop the services or take control of the user devices. In order to stop this intrusion, the Network Intrusion Detection System is proposed (NIDS). The NIDS monitors the network and if any attack occurs, this system detects the attack and will alert the user about respective attack that occurred. Thus,these systemshelp in preventing intrusions in our networks. And for developing the most accurate NIDS, four different Machine Learning (ML) algorithms are used.The four algorithms used to build a high accuracy system are Random forest, SVM, Naïve Bayes, KNN are used. By identifying the algorithm with highest accuracy, the exact attack can be detected hence the required preventive measures can be taken.
Cloud computing is an emerging technology which provides three main services namely SaaS,PaaS and IaaS where the security is addressed individually in each of these services. In this view the network traffic and computation time increases, and slows down the availability of cloud resources to the service consumers. In this paper we have proposed a new service provider namely security-as-a-service in cloud computing wherein all the security related tasks will be handled uniquely which is similar to firewall in a network topology. In our paper, we have taken i-banking application with SOA for effective, easy and secure access of cloud.
