++ +++of Centella asiatica extract causing allergic contact dermatitis (4), and neither aescin nor dagopin essence have been reported previously.Aescin is a mixture oftriterpenoid glycosides obtained from the seeds of the horse chestnut tree, and is said to have anti-inflammatory properties. As for dragopin, we know only that it is obtained from the dragon tree. We believe that our patient has multiple sensitization to many allergens, including some unusual plant extracts in the topical medicaments used, rather than photodermatitis as suggested clinically.
