Starting from the premise that performance is closely connected to motivation, this paper is intended to present the motivation process within universities as a complex process, which leads to personnel's performance only if motivational mechanisms are known and properly applied by university managers. The managers' role within the universities is to fulfill the organization's targets/objectives through its members. Therefore, motivation is a top priority for the universities managers. Developing organizational strategies for motivating the university employees becomes the main goal of organizational management nowadays in order to improve the organizational performances.
Nowadays Competitive Intelligence (CI) represents one of the most important pieces in strategic management of organizations in order to sustain and enhance competitive advantage over competitors. There are some studies that claim that a successful strategic management is influenced by the accuracy of external environment's evaluation and, in the same time, in order to have correct and complete business strategies it is necessary to be sustained by competitive advantage. But till at the beginning of '80 the things were totally different. This paper will present the evolution and the objectives of CI, the results of using CI in organizations and how can be improved the CI process using tools and techniques provided by business intelligence (BI). The study will propose a framework of a decision support system based on web mining techniques in order to enhance capabilities of organization's competitive intelligence.
The evolution of the world economy, the continuous growth of human needs and industrial and technological development have led to an increased demand for energy and consumption of fossil fuels. Since fossil resources are limited, there is an urgent need for the evolution of current economies to achieve sustainable development (SD), supported predominantly by waste management, renewable energy production, limiting non-renewable resource consumption, sustainable development, etc. In this research, the management of waste (chicken debris and debris from meat processing/slaughter) resulting from the chicken slaughtering activities using biogas installations (BI) is shown to be a viable alternative that places the economic entity at intercept if waste recycling and the production of electricity, heat and digestate. The purpose of this research was to quantify the economic impact generated using BI, which processes organic wastes resulted from the processing flow of the meat chicken slaughterhouse.
Starting from identifying an upward trend in waste disposal costs at the municipal landfill, the research aims to analyze the viability of investment to integrate a compost platform, which transforms the sludge resulting from the biogas production process into a soil improver for agricultural land. The economic entity analyzed activates agri-food and uses a biogas plant as a management tool for the waste from slaughtering chickens, to obtain biogas, heat, and electricity. The study is carried out through the multi-criteria analysis based on the following variants: The operation of the biogas plant with sludge disposal as waste (V1), the operation with recovery of waste as soil improver (V2), the closure of the biogas plant (V3). The economic effects regarding the greening and capitalization of the sludge waste are quantified from a monetary point of view and based on the analysis the optimal variant, V2, is established. It has been proven that the investment generates: Positive results increased by 70.52%, a positive and upward opportunity cost by 37.96%, and marginal profit growth of 53.17%. The study emphasizes that efficient waste management turns an environmental problem and cost into an economic and ecological advantage for the economic entities.
